Prof Ary Serpa Neto is an Intensivist at Austin Health and Director of Intensive Care Research at the same institution. He is also a Senior Research Fellow at Monash University (ANZIC-RC) and Honorary Fellow at the University of Melbourne. His research focuses on mechanical ventilation, renal and metabolic dysfunction in critical illness, and methodological innovation in clinical trials. Prof Serpa Neto leads national and international research programs and serves as Chief Investigator on several multicentre clinical trials and NHMRC/MRFF grants. He is a Co-Editor-in-Chief of Critical Care & Resuscitation and Associate Editor of Critical Care Science. He has played key roles in global guideline development and multidisciplinary collaborations across Brazil, Europe, and Australia. In addition to his research, he is actively involved in postgraduate supervision and international education in intensive care.
